When you have portraits made, making beautiful images is just the beginning. Until those portraits take on some physical form they don’t have much impact.
But with all the options available, what’s the best way to decide how to enjoy your portraits?
One of our very favorite things to do here at Acorn is help you take your portraits from concept to finished artwork that fits your home and lifestyle. We don’t leave you to figure out what to do with the beautiful portraits we’ve created together.
We’ve removed the guesswork and have a simple process to help you narrow down to your favorite portraits and coordinate your preferences and home style with finished pieces that you and your family will be delighted to enjoy for years to come.
Today I’m sharing a quick behind the scenes look from a session I photographed of my sister and her family in the studio back in the fall.
We took her favorite images and digitally designed options for her to see what different sizes, finishes and configurations look like on her walls.
Doing it this way makes it easy for you to see what your portraits could look like in your space instead of having to try and visualize it.
Here are some examples I showed her…
Each of these configurations are comps of various sizes and finishes shown on their wall. Do you notice how the colors in the portraits coordinate with their space nicely without being super matchy? That’s no coincidence. We also help you choose a color palette and clothing style that will look great displayed in your home.
After looking at their options here are the finished pieces on the walls. They chose a gallery wrap canvas for their family portrait above their couch.
For the girls individual portraits they went with matted and framed pieces on the wall across from the couch which allows them to easily update their individual portraits as they grow.
When I delivered and hung the finished pieces both of my nieces went over to their portraits, pointed and grinned. They were so proud to see themselves in print. Then my older niece pointed to the canvas of the whole family and said, “Daddy!” and “Momma!” It was precious and I have no doubt that as they get older they will remember the portraits that hung on their walls growing up. The ones that showed them right where they belong.
